“Why did god give me an ass if he didn’t want me to sit on it?”

Hello and welcome to another educational cannabis / marijuana filled episode of the Hot Box. Yes, in case you didn’t know, the drug war is still on and popping with no stop in sight. So do what you have to in order to stay safe, and by safe, I mean out of the prison system. For some reason, after doing this show for a while, it seems to me, and maybe this was blatantly obvious to most of you, but the prison system plays a huge role in all of this. It’s the prison system that eats these peoples lives, destroys families, etc… Or more importantly, it’s the people who have the most to benefit by the prison system running smoothly that are doing the destroying.

Sure, there are some nasty people out there, and they should be locked up or destroyed or whatever you do to people who have nothing else to give society and have become a detriment. But for the most part, the people who fill this system are non violent drug offenders. What happens when you lock up non violent people with violent people? Take a wild guess. I can promise you it’s not rehabilitation. But you already knew that, because you listen to this show, ergo, you are smart. Or at least pretend to be. Thanks for listening, and keep on reading for some notes.

“Are you calling for a revolution?”

What is it the people want? What do We the People need? Basic necessities in order to survive? Of course. A comfortable standard of living? Sure, why not. The right to be treated equally regardless of race, color, or creed? You betcha. The right to pursue happiness and liberty in life? I wouldn’t have it any other way. The right to be treated like a second class citizen simply because we choose to smoke or ingest cannabis instead of the alternative? Ye… Nope. Wait, what? No? It seems we have a breakdown in communication here. We have all sorts of amazing, unalienable rights as citizens of this great country, yet a huge number of us are incarcerated each and every day for choosing a less harmful alternative than what the major mainstream companies are trying to shove down our throats. Do I understand this correctly? Is our great all knowing government actually saying that if WE choose to treat OUR bodies with cannabis because cannabis works for US, and works with a LOT less side effects that are a LOT LESS HARMFUL, we instantly cross that threshold from good wholesome law abiding tax paying citizen to worthless second class criminal drug addict? Wow. Think about it. Think about the hypocrisy, and the disinformation they spread. Think about all the good people who’s lives are wasted, not because they did something evil or hurt someone, but because our government thinks it knows best how we should be taking care of our bodies.

“Drug prohibition from every aspect has been a complete catastrophe.”

The problem with the war on drugs, is the war on drugs. Why are you starting fights with people like that? Why are you treating things that should be health related, like criminal offenses? That’s the most appalling thing of all, for now at least. I’m sure if we give them time they will blow us away with something even worse. Listen, if people have drug problems, they are treated like criminals, rather than the alternative. What’s the alternative? Hmm, some sort of empathy and humanity for someone going through a hard time in their life perhaps? It’s maybe a bit hard to understand unless you’ve gone through it yourself, but still. Jail? Really? Sure, if they keep doing it over and over again after you’ve helped, or they’ve helped themselves over and over, then OK, but is it criminal? Not hardly.

“A politician doesn’t know anything but their issue, and nobody wants to make medical marijuana their issue.”

The Hot Box proudly presents to you, episode 99 of our medical marijuana talk show. We started this show back in May of 2010 intent on educating the people and spreading the good word of marijuana. We’ve met a lot of cool people in the process who are fighting tooth and nail, pouring their every waking moment to help the medical marijuana industry move forward. It’s great to see so many smart, well motivated people focused on fixing the massively ugly, waste of money and resources mistake that is the war on drugs. One of those people on the forefront each and every day is the MTCIA’s own Ed Docter. Ed is a man of vision and drive, putting thousands of miles on his own personal vehicle to visit every single medical marijuana business in the great state of Montana. Between him, and the rest of the team that makes up the MTCIA, and all of the patients, providers, and common people such as myself in this great industry, we are getting things done. It’s a slow and steady process, but hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Although Caesar was murdered towards the end of one. The government should take great care in how they continue to address the people involved in this industry.

We are not second class citizens. We are not criminals. We are hard working honest every day people that keep this great country of ours going. If you continue to treat us like criminals and put us in jail, or break into our businesses during normal hours of operation just to steal money and cannabis, you are going to start a civil war you will not win. No body will win. Every life lost, every family member incarcerated, every dollar that gets spent on fighting this legal battle, takes away money and able bodies from the community it lives and thrives in. You cannot win, because we have the truth on our side. You have lied, but now we control the flow of information. It’s better to stop now, apologize, reschedule, and end this silly war on drugs before things go too far. Though some of us would say things are far passed that point. It’s up to you. Get links on how you can help support the movement after the break.
